Konsepnya adalah sangat sederhana, apalagi kalau nanti didesain dengan desain yang bagus, saya yakin filter anda hasilnya akan lebih yahud. Kenapa saya bilang sederhana? karena sekarang dengan kondisi bak filter kolam koi saya yang bocor, sudah berbulan2 ini saya hanya menggunakan semacam ember yang saya lobangi dibawahnya kemudian ember tadi yang berfungsi sebagai filter kolam koi, saya kasih ijuk dan saya tempatkan disisi kolam. Air saya alirkan lewat atas, hanya asall mengalir saja, dan air yang masuk ke kolam akan melewati ijuk tadi. Ijuk tidak usah dibuat rapat menutup lubang tadi (renggang saja), tidak seperti filter yang kita beli dari toko yang mengharuskan kita seolah2 menjadikan media penyaringan dengan ukuran beberapa micro. Kenapa demikian? hal ini dikarenakan sifat ijuk yang akan mengikat partikel2 kecil, seperti kalau penggaris kita gosok2kan ke kepala dan kita dekatkan dengan potongan2 kertas, dia akan mengikat. Jadi tidak perlu ijuk disusun rapat sampai menutupi lobang keluar air, ranggang saja. Nanti setelah beberapa hari lobang itu akan tertutup dengan sendirinya kok oleh kotoran yang tersaring. Sampai pada akhirnya ember tadi akan penuh dan air akan keluar dari atas, karena lobang akan tertutup oleh kotoran yang menempel pada ijuk.
Pompa juga usahakan jangan terlalu deras, sesuaikan dengan ukuran bak filter dan jumlah ijuk, karena kalau terlalu kencang, ijuk tidak akan kuat menahan kotoran karena pergerakan air terlalu kencang. Sebagai ilustrasi, saya menggunakan ember diameter 30-cm dan tinggi 30-an cm, saya taruh ijuk setengahnya dan pompa air dengan kekuatan berapa liter perjam ya? wah kok lupa barusan aku ke kolam, tapi karena udah ketutup lumut jadi tidak keliatan, ntar deh kalau pas keliatan tak publish lagi. Eh jangan lupa, lumut yang menempel pada dinding kolam jangan dihilangkan karena dia akan memperbaiki kondisi air dan menjadi makanan koi yang mengadung spirinula berfungsi untuk mencerahkan warna koi.

mnta disain filternya donk,,
mutu airnya tambah bening bila ditam-bahkan : pasir malang ayak, kerikil, dan arang batok kelapa. Komposisinya dari dasar ember adalah :
1. kerikil kasar pasir malang
2. ijuk
3. arang batok kelapa
4. ijuk lagi
5. pasir malang (pasir vulkanik)
6. pecahan genteng penahan arus air.
mutu air bisa buat cuci baju putih seragam sekolah anak2, bila air tanah kuning/jelek. Belum di uji di Lab PAM, airnya bisa tidak buat dikonsumsi... Thanks
